Meandering River Channels
Meandering rivers shift their positions across the valley bottom by depositing sediment on the inside of bends while simultaneously eroding the on the outer banks of the meander bends.
The brown regions indicate point bars (areas of deposition).
The red line represents the thalweg (the deepest part of the stream).
