Wild iris

Description: Nearly identical to cultivated iris. Leaves are linear, flattened, and lime green. Flower petals have purple or lilac colored veins on a white background.

Occurrence: Common in wet meadows in the mountains and on the plains. Flowers early in the summer. Not palatable to grazing animals.
