Yellow perch are native to southern Canada and the northeastern and upper midwestern United
States.
They were introduced to Colorado around 1879.
Yellow perch spawn in the spring. They lay eggs over submerged tree limbs, sticks, and
vegetation.
Their diet includes aquatic invertebrates and occasionally fish.
There are six or seven distinctive vertical bars on the sides of the fish.
The dorsal fins are definitely separated with two or three spines in the forward dorsal fin.
Maximum length: 6-12 inches
